Talking about old verses, just today I remembered a verse by Göthe: "... hab ich doch das Wort vergessen..." (Indeed, I forgot the word). Was he thinking about passwords, perhaps?
That was from the Magician's Apprentice. Another interesting verse from the same poem is: "Die ich rief, die Geister, werd ich nun nicht los." (The spirits which I have invoked, now I can't get rid of them.) This reference seems very fit for all kinds of modern technology!
