Thank you for your help .... According your seggestion, it's work but the ASP page will stop at the error statement and show the error message on the page immediately. I can't control the error by myself. I would like to show prompted message to user when the error occurred during stored procedure processing has error. It is because the updating ASP page is a hidden page on the screen. The user didn't see any error message on it if error occurr during the process. Thanks a lot!!

p.s. What's your comment about this book "SQL Server 2000 Stored Procedure Programming" ?
