Title:
Way to speed up httpping?
I'm using the httpping method of wwIPStuff's wwHTTP class to check to see if I have an internet connection present or not.
The httpping method has a timeout value that can be set. I have set the value to 2 seconds but when no internet connection is present, I find that a call to the method winds up taking as long as 30 seconds.
I'm guessing that the 2 seconds has more to do with if an internet connection IS present and how long the method will wait for a response from the server.
I'm wondering if there is a way to keep httpping from hanging me for 30 seconds if no internet connection is found. I'd be just as happy if the 2 seconds applied in that case as well.
Thanks for whatever help you can offer.
