One of the great new enhancements in VFP 7.0 was that VFP controls were exposed via active accessibility. This meant VFP could make use of a test harness (as supplied with VFP).

I assumed that because VFP controls were exposed as separate objects to Active Accessibility, commercial testing software would also be able to see VFP controls as separate objects. It seems that this is not the case. I have tried both Compuware's QARUN and Rational's Robot and neither is able to identify individual VFP controls as objects. Rational's Visual Test product (which uses Active Accessibility) can identify individual VFP controls as objects.

Does anyone know why this would be the case? Am I doing some wrong or are VFP controls not exposed in the same manner as other tools (eg VB). Is anyone aware of any commercial testing tools that can identify individual VFP controls as objects.

Many thanks
Paul
