>Thanks, that's what I thought was the case. I'm planning to add a salestax field to my CityZip table, and relate it from there.

Be careful...the zip code I live in is in two cities--Keller & Fort Worth, Texas. I have a Keller address, but I'm in the Fort Worth city limit and have Fort Worth city services.

Texas has state, city, MTA (mass-transit authority), and county taxes. Not every city is part of an MTA, and there aren't very many counties that have a county tax.

There are complex rules that determine which tax districts you are collecting taxes for...these are for shipped items and work that is done at the customer. Factors: do you have more than one location in the state? Where are they located? Construction/repair work: is it commercial or residential? Complete bid with materials included, or itemized?

Bottom line...the system needs to be flexible enough to allow the customer to select the right tax combination, and to give good reports for completing sales tax reports.
