My understanding is that macro substitution “&” is a very powerful part of writing reusable code. AND there seems to be a bug in VFP 8 involving macro substtution and it has been reported to MSDN.

An example is that you have to select data from many tables that have been normalized and you have to run you from and where clauses with different fields. You can write SQL statements for each different select or you can use macro substitution. It works great when you are creating reusable classes, multi-tiered business apps, and so on.
