Since my good natured gesture towards a member of Tek-tips is in question, I would like to use this direct quote from my message to you.
"It is perfectly fine to mention Universal Thread as a good resource for a VFP programmer, but if you are to make suggestions to the members asking a question, is there anywhere that YOU can come up with the solution rather then "look it up at UT, you will find the answer" type of suggestion?"
Being a (non-PUTM) member of UT for while, I have yet to find a way from within UT to locate a message posted in Tek-tips with just a thread number a message number. My suggestion was more like, "copy the solution directly from the UT post and paste it into the Tek-tips post". That way the member does not have to go through the registration process, only to find out he still cannot easely locate the suggestion you gave him.
I hope that clears things up.
