I remember reading that, Alan, and I rationalized it this way (the last paragraph):
My PC, which I use for more than development (i.e. personal and business related stuff) already had an OS when I bought MSDN. It was Win XP-Home.

Now this paragraph may intend, but doesn't succeed in my mind, to prevent my installing MSDN's Windows 2003 and continuing to use it exactly the same way. After all, I have complied with "...purchasing a retail license for AN operating system...".
