Imagine being tried in a court of law, under the laws of the United States (a person is incident until proven guilty, etc.) for a crime for which there is no evidence. There is speculation but no evidence. You are found guilty and punished. Is there anything wrong here? I still say that GWB justified the war with Iraq because, “They tried to kill my daddy”.

I remember the words of GWB while running for President, when asked about his record in the State of Texas and the Death Penalty. Texas is known for its harsh treatment of prisoners and use of the death penalty. “No innocent man has been executed in the state of Texas. They have all had a fair trial”.

Other states have found innocent men sitting on death row but only Texas has a perfect record of executing only the guilty. I have a friend from Oklahoma who is a red neck and uses this term often. “Let’s hang the guilty bastard and give him a fair trial”!

Napoleon used the term “preemptive strike”, before attacking Austria, Prussia, Russia and then he was going to attack England when England obliged him first.

GWB will soon crown himself emperor (lower case) so all “good Americans” will be proud!

I am enjoying the magic formula for democracy, which the United States has defined for Iraq. Iraq will create a constitution, everyone will vote, and no forethought is given to the religious or political factions and history of Iraq. Some Iraqis want us out now so they can do things the way they want. Always there are those who wish to take and possess the power structure of a nation or club. They are often vocal and in this case they may be right.

The United States should get out of Iraq and let the people of Iraq sort out their future. If we do not like the result we will simply send in the boys and girls to rectify the situation. Our recent history proves that point!
