I have lots of statistics and information about the Japanese action during WWII., and the use of chemical agents such as phosgene, mustard, lewisite, hydrogen cyanide, and diphenyl cyanarsine as well as biological agents. All these were used on military, civilian and POW’s.

Recently there was a PBS episode about one incident of Japanese use of chemical and biological weapons against civilians.

Here is but one brief reference.

http://www.centurychina.com/wiihist/news/news_english/jap.chem.weapon3.html

Japan stated it did not do any of these things. A member of the Japanese military during WWII who was involved in this activity has testified in court that these things happened. He has devoted his life to help those Chinese that were injured.

>I believe Japan was accused of and lost the court case for using chemical weapons there, right? I remember they lost the court case but no dispensation was provided to the Chinese families whose relatives died or were sick from it.

>>The Syrian Ambassador to the U.N. yesterday stated on CNN, “There are no Iraqi leaders or members of the Iraqi family in Syria”! I think I missed something – which family? Leaders?

>>Japan attacked Shanghai, China in 1937. What did Japan do when the United States stopped supplying oil in 1937 because of this action? Remember Pearl Harbor? Who cut off the oil supply from Iraq to Syria? You might think twice before taking that Hawaiian vacation.

>>One of the places my dad was stationed at was Shanghai, with the Fourth Marine division, in 1938. The daily routine was being shot at by Japanese and Chinese soldiers. Dad said the Chinese soldiers killed more civilians than the Japanese. If anyone thinks the pictures released of the recent action in Iraq against civilians are bad, my dad took pictures that make them look like a Walt Disney movie.

>>>Numerous politicians, including Colin Powell, stated publicly yesterday the U.S. is NOT considering military action of any type with Syria. It is difficult for Syria to claim that no Iraqi leadership have found safe harbor in Syria and be believed when the Iraqi Ambassador to the U.S. just flew there and landed in Damascas. Syria seems to be backtracking and looking for ways to find a common ground and cooperate so it is all just 'political manuevering' now. Or so it seems... Cross your fingers!

>>>>It doesn't seem likely, right now, that other nations will give significant aid to Iraq, but if the United States attacks Syria - verbal attacks have already begun - or perhaps Iran - the resentment among other nations might grow, and it can still spread into a world war - a war in which there will likely be no winners.
