One way to do this is to use a small cursor each time user enters grid. Fill it with a column key, and before/after column widths. One field for "before width" filled in a place like Grid When, then again fill "after width" on grid exit, say in the Valid. Any cursor columns that have different before and after column widths need report alterations. And you also have the exact width change numbers you need to alter the report size exactly right.
