Well, I made a post over 2 years ago here that .NET would not do well as a name for MS products, the way MS was planning to use it so widely. It took a while, but my prediction is turning out correct - as we see that now the .NET name is being dropped from various products.

Not that the .NET *concept* (eventually tieing everything together into Web Services, more-or-less) is bad, it's not, IMO. But the .NET *name* was confusing to many persons besides me, it now appears.
