I tried bay area field poll 2003 into google.com and a few other sources.

Interesting stuff these polls! Pew Poll, Field Polls, etc. Then the media gives the results. So the leadership of San Francisco and Marin County are against the war and the people want war. Who ever listens to the people? What are leaders for anyway? :)

Let’s have our own field poll! Seems like many do this. Call 500 or 1000 people. I am just giving the numbers I have seen from these polls.

I found one poll where the numbers indicated the Bay Area was against the war and another poll that stated the opposite. That is what reporting is all about! Choose your source to fit your viewpoint. If possible create your own field poll and call “the right people” to answer your questions.

I still have not talked to anyone around me that wants war. I guess I am with the wrong crowd. Now where is the nearest red neck bar? :)

>>I cannot speak for anyone other than myself. The thought of invading Iraq was frightening and is now a reality. The amount of support given to GWB by the people of the United States (polls) for his actions against Iraq, is frightening to me. The majority of people in the San Francisco Bay Area did not want to invade Iraq. We tend to think differently on the west coast.

>I think it should be mentioned that while the majority of news reports on the Bay Area seem to focus on the anti-war protesters, the actual polling is showing different results. Unfortunately I can't seem to locate the source article in the SF Chronicle's online site but the following article makes reference to the results. I know this was reported around the end of March/beginning of April.

>After all the blather about how the Bay Area is a haven for anti-war sentiment, it was especially delicious to read in The Chronicle that the Field Poll found that even the liberal Bay Area supports "military action in Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein from power" -- to the glorious tune of 63 percent.
