I don't think it would take more than a few days to build ... particulary if one has built forms in the past.

It should only require 2 forms, and 1 table.

One form to add a message to the table for a given user, and another form that would "wake up" at some interval, check the table for new messages for a given user, notify the user of new messages(s), and allow the user to view and delete the new message(s).

That would be the minimum requirements; one could get fancier after that.

A prerequisite would be that the user has "logged on" somehow so that they could only access their own messages; if this is not part of a larger application, an extra "userid" logon/validation table would be required.
