objectname(period) to bring up IntelliSense. I'll fiddle with it this weekend. And why do you think it should return an IUnknown pointer? I would think it would give me a pointer to the default interface of the new task.

Well, the DLL has no type library, so that doesn't help <g>...
The api is documented though under Using the Task Scheduler in the Platform SDK. There several C++ examples that demonstrate how to use the classes and I have that all working with a wrapper DLL.
Still seems a mystery to me that this isn't exposed in a more open way... Heck the interface is there, all they would have had to do is create a type library and ProgIds
.
