I've read the March-2003 Foxtalk article of Paul McNett ('Running Visual Foxpro on Linux') with great interest. There has not been a single second that I thought that MS would oppose and prohibit the use of VFP on Linux/Wine. That they do prohibit it, is really crazy practice. The mere existence of MS is thanks to the fact that they built OS'es and applications that were compatible with those of other parties. And what about Foxpro (Foxplus) itself?! It started as a pure clone of dBaseII.

I like the used analogy of a SUV. I can imagine that MS is not willing to support usage off the road, but forbid it? No, that's just one step too much.
