Ladies and Gentlemen:

Sam Gentile is in town this week and he'll be presenting What's New in Visual Studio.NET 2003. This is a joint effort by the following Developer Groups:

http://www.csharpstudygroup.com
http://www.lacsharp.org
http://www.occsharp.org
http://www.ladotnet.com

Sam Gentile currently consults for Microsoft on a variety of .NET related projects which are currently NDA. He has worked with Groove Networks, on the Groove Toolkit for Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, a VSIP product that creates Groove tools in managed code. In this capacity, he has worked heavily with .NET COM Interop with COM code-bases in excess of a million lines. Previously, Sam was one of the main architects and team leads of the .NET products at NaviSite Corporation. Sam has been working with .NET since the initial alpha and currently works with future versions of the framework. He maintains an extremely popular .NET Web Log at http://dotnetweblogs.com/sgentile/ widely regarded as the pulse of the .NET community. He has been a Software Engineer since 1985. Sam is a co-author of Wrox's Visual C++.NET: A Primer for C++ Developers, in particular the chapters on Interop and COM Interop. Sam has also written various articles on Managed C++ for O'Reilly. He is currently at work on a .NET book for O'Reilly.
