I got an answer back on the Bitmap Image working as a Button.


In the SatForms Help you can find the following instructions: "Creating Active Bitmaps It is possible to make a bitmap act like a button so an action occurs when you tap on it. The technique is to place a bitmap on your form and then place a button with no caption and no borders over it. The button is activated when tapped, although it appears invisible to the user.

The Survey #2 program in the Samples directory provides an example of this function.

You can also set up different sections of a large bitmap to initiate different actions. Simply place multiple button controls with no borders and no caption in the appropriate positions on the bitmap."

In SatForms 4.x : Placing a button on top or bottom of the bitmap would depend on PalmOS version. In PalmOS 3.5 or higher, the button has to be on top of the bitmap. On older versions, the button has to be on bottom of the bitmap. This has to do with the order of evaluation change between 3.5 or higher and older versions. So make sure that your application will work on all PalmOS, you would use 2 identical buttons. One on top and one on the bottom.

In SatForms 5.0 and SatForms 5.1 the problem is fixed and you can follow the instructions from the SatForms Help.

In SatForms 5.2 the problem re-appeared (and it is not fixed in SatForms 5.2.1). The workaround is to use 2 identical buttons. One on top and one on the bottom of the image.


The last paragraph addresses my problem directly. Hope this helps you in your upgrade process, and others someday.
