I think Ken is correct in saying that the Microsoft marketing budget was well-spent in helping cover the costs of a special issue focused completely on VFP 8, with reference-quality articles about some of the new features.
We also appreciate the many other VFP-related advertisers who saw this as a great way to get their marketing messages out to the community. Although we just barely covered our costs, we still consider this to have been a successful venture to support the VFP community.
Although CoDe maintained editorial independence in the creation and editing of the articles, we appreciated having VFP team members review the articles and add their comments, which we ran as sidebars.
At 72 pages, this issue still just scratched the surface of what needs to be written. I wonder if we need to do a followup issue sometime in the future? :-)
