I bought a USB 2 Connect card from Amazon and it's great. It also came with the software USB Control Utility that looks at all of your USB ports and shows you a "tree" of your USB ports, shows what's pluged into the port and if it's USB 2 it puts a 2 in the corner of the icon for the item.
It's a free download for for Adaptec users. But there is a lot of OEM stuff out there that is Adaptec and then again it may work on other hardware without an Adaptec adapter being installed. It showed my non-Adaptec items as well. The download is only 45 seconds on a 56k modem. More info at:
