Tracy,

Your suggestion fixed the intermittant problems. Unfortunately not all. I am still under the impression that VFP 8.0 is not as stable as VFP 7.0 with SP1 as advertised but I do have a foot hold.

Under my XP configuration I cannot run with MS XP Toys/Desktop Manager. A Virtual Desktop Manager. I am about to begin testing other virtual desktop managers. This may seem trivial but I have been pursuing the ultimate desktop since I began trying to run DESQview with QEMM on 8088's. Things have come a long long way now that I have dual 21 inchers, Virtual Desktops, tons of memory etc but I am still screwing with the config...just a different type of screwing. This area was very stable under VFP 7.0

I also cannot run either Maximizer/Pervasive SQL Tool Bar utilites or SQL MSDE 2000. I have not figured out which. I am just keeping both closed at the moment.

There may be other things that are causing the Event errors I mentioned because I am pretty far backwards from the config I had been using for awhile with VFP 7.0

But there was an obvious problem with the FoxUser.dbf Actually what was going on is the primary project I am working on has a requirement to use its own FoxUser file in a certain location. During the Code/Test/Debug cycle the Foxuser file gets switched out to the one not created with 8.0 install. This one has been migrated forward through several versions of fox. I just deleted both the VFP 8.0 default and this one. Let VFP 8.0 create a new default, then copied that one to the app FoxUser. Immediately made a difference. Enough so that I could start sorting other apps that are causing problems.

Thanks for the suggestion. I really whish they would get rid of the FoxUser file totally. Its about time.
