>I'd be interested to know just how many people really care about this at this time. I can't imagine huge numbers of Fox developers dying to start developing apps in/for Linux. Or am I behind the times ?

I'm one of those developers. I've been working with Linux for some years and I can see that there are possible advantages, EXCEPT that database development is not anywhere near as advanced for the Linux platform as on Windows. A FoxPro for Linux would be a wonderful thing, and would clean up.
While I think the VFP+WINE is a possibility, it strikes me as kind of a technical kludge. What would be ideal is an open source version of VFP that would compile to any platform.
Frankly, I find this whole thing pretty pathetic on Microsoft's part. Their insistance on this reminds me of the IBM Microchannel.
