Yes the Items Master will contain all item names before it can be used in BOM Master or in it's own heirarchy.

As we discussed previously there is this SecUnit (1kg, 10kgs), so when the user enters the transaction I will have to get the name of the item, the SecUnit and maybe also the location of where the goods were received/dispatched. Say the user enters Tobacco, 10kgs, SuburbanUnit, Qty. 50 (internally 50*10=500kgs of Tobacco)
Now is this the only option to get things one by one ie. Tobacco, 10kgs, SuburbanUnit or is there an intelligent way to do it?
