Sorry, I mis-named the field earlier. It is info. in the "Field Comment" field that shows when click-hold the mouse on a field name of a table as shown in the Database designer 'surface'.

I have since found that the FORMAT/LENGTH comes and goes. Sometimes it is there for one table's fields and not for another, then it goes away again.

It was handy (finished now) for checking the length I had already set for similar fields in other tables.

I'm going to make a Wish List entry to have the Project Manager "Description" area at teh bottom expanded AND to have it show the FORMAT and LENGTH automatically when the highlight is a table field name.

And of course I think it should at least be consistent in the Database Designer "surface" display.
