I guess what we're wondering, Doru, and so I can test better, is:

1) When you say "tables open" you mean they are visible in the Data Session list? If so, what happens when you first do a DO FORM, and then type CLOSE DATA ALL? Is the MODI FORM slow again?

2) When you say "many files" in directories, what kind of number are we talking about? 50 files? 500 files? 5000 files? Just roughly, I mean.
