I'm curious. Would win2000 or winXP machines with drives marked for "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching" suffer any performance loss when running VFP with extremely large tables? I'm not sure what windows is doing under the hood with that setting. Is it a bad idea for my end users with extremely large datasets to have that setting turned on? If there is another layer of indexing going on, albeit at the OS level, would this impact performance significantly? Perhaps it doesn't make a difference, but I'm curious.
