>I'm considering converting a rather large VFP7 app before it is even deployed but some threads I've read here about data corruption with VFP 8 have raised a red flag. Any experience with this problem?Lynda,
Jim gave you a good answer. I personally have not had any data corruption whatsoever with VFP8, not even with early Betas.
VFP8 has a SET TABLEVALIDATE command with the following values:
0-Does not perform table validation.
1-Validate record count when opening a table.
2-Validate record count when appending or inserting records and writing them to disk.
3-Validate as described by nLevel=1 and nLevel=2. (Default)
This will help you deal with some problems you may be referring to.
I would not wait to upgrade. It's not worth to delay having the availability of all those new features and functionality IMO.
