I'll offer some non-financial considerations...

1) The EULA for VFP8 here, and I presume there too, says explicitly that if you purchased te UPGRADE product then you must de-install the software that formed the basis for the upgrade 'within a reasonable time' and the two cannot be installed anywhere at the same time.
When you buy either the full product or a MSDN subscription neither is an "upgrade" so that proviso does not apply.

2) MSDN is a subscription for 1 year and if it is not renewed then you may continue to use the software that came throughout your subscription period under the same terms and conditions as during the subscription for as long as you wish.
