Well, I had thought about this detail a while ago (see my sentence above). However, the fact remains that Michel must have some "added-value" for the members that pay, and it seems that the search capability is his main trump in this case. I mean, despite the fact that sometimes, indeed, paying members do some searching for non-paying members, I personally prefer to have the search capability myself, than not to have it. So would many others, I guess.


I understand his reasoning and, if it's working for him, so be it. I gave up putting forth an opinion on this site long ago. I was only pointing out the irony of holding out the ability to do the work yourself as opposed to having someone else do it for you as a carrot to get people to pay. It seems to go against human nature. If it is indeed working, then perhaps it isn't the site that is odd, but its users. :)
