All interesting points Tracy.

You know, VFP is such an awesome product - absolutely stunning - and I have enjoyed working with it since the early FoxBase/dBase days. MS have this great platform with a great VFP development team but sometimes it seems that they just dont "get it" at all (or just dont care).

(And just for the record - I have no interest in the VFP on Linux platform per se. I choose VFP as our #1 dev tool because Windows is what 99% of our target market has. My complaint is about the way this issue is being handled by MS).

In essence, MSFT could deny any responsibility for Ken's statements down the road too. Not bad on MSFT's part actually...CYA again. They can decide at anytime to allow/not allow deploying VFP8 on any platform other than MSFT platforms, leave their options open to sue down the road, and also cover their b_tts in case someone sues them...
