Hi All,

I wonder with all the contreversy on whether VFP and/or the VFP runtimes are allowed to be run on Linux, if it is worth fighting MS on?

The reason I ask is because there are several tools that allow you to run Fox/FoxPro code on Linux without dealing with MS.

Two that come to mind right away are Recital and Flagship. Both of these products provide compiler level compatability with FoxPro (dos) code. The latter also has a new 'visual' version.

While these tools are NOT FoxPro, they do allow you to leverage 100% of your knowledge and write code you are familiar with and deploy to Linux, even with a Client/Server architechture if you want.

While I haven't used these, I do plan to give one a try, and see how much of an existing app I can resue on a port. We may not be able to run VFP on Linux, but we can certainly run all the code we wrote.

Here are the links to the products mentioned above.

They both have free downloads for personal and/or demo versions, if I remember correctly.
