CommTools Adds Support for Visual Foxpro v8.0
(Dallas, TX USA) Magna Carta Software today announced that CommTools for Visual FoxPro is now compatible with Microsoft's newly released Visual FoxPro 8. CommTools is the premier tool for adding support for serial communications to a Visual FoxPro application. Visual FoxPro 8 is the latest release of Microsoft's most powerful database programming tool. "Our typical user is a professional programmer" said Magna Carta Software President Andrew Chalk. "The application might be file transfer between business centers using an error-correcting protocol, interfacing to a point of sale device such as a barcode reader or providing emulation of a mainframe terminal on a PC".
CommTools allows the Visual FoxPro programmer to add support for a large number of communications capabilities including:
File transfer using any of a large number of protocols: ZMODEM, Kermit (with long packet support), YMODEM and XMODEM
Terminal emulation of VT100, VT220, VT52, TV910, TV912, TV925, ANSI-SYS and ANSI X3.64
Modem support for all industry standard modems
Low-level control of the serial port and flow control
CommTools for Visual FoxPro now supports all version of Visual FoxPro from version 5.0 through to the latest, version 8.0. The product is sold directly by Magna Carta Software and through leading resellers.
