Hi,
you have to set, when initializing the grid, the property of the column. That's all. During runtime you don't need to take care of it by code. If the user drags a column a drops it as the first column in the grid, then the grid will automatically build the nodes of the treeview from it and collapse/expand the rows of the grid accordingly. It will also compute sums, averages and so on on columns defined by you (at design time).
Have a look at the free Visual Basic demos you cand download from the website ! It really easy. The help file is also very helpfull.
