Thanks Mark, I figured out what the problem was. Tech support finally was able to help me get the LP 2824 into line mode and show me how to copy files to com1 in Windows XP, something I didn't think you could do because of the security limitations of XP.

You are right about ELP2 code, most everyone is using the newer version to output to the Eltron printers. I'll be making code changes anyway so that's what I'll be using.
