Eric,

With all respect, it DOES matter what the EULA does or doesn't say at this point! Suppose Ken calls you and tells you that the EULA forbids you to use VFP and coffee simultaneously... You get worried, call your lawyer, after a thorough study of the EULA his answer is that you might have a good chance to witstand the MS lawyers and at the same time he sends his first bill.

>It really doesn't matter what the EULA says or doesn't say at this point. The statement issued by Levy means that MS is threatening legal action against anyone distributing VFP runtime on any other platform besides Windows. If you believe you are right and can win a lawsuit, you could in fact write a huge distributed app for Linux and take your chances. I wouldn't do that if I were you unless you have a billion dollars and a team of corporate lawyers with the celebrity of Manchester United.

>>Hi to ALL (including Ken Levy),
>>
>>In several threads here, I've asked people to SHOW ME the lines in the EULA that 'forbid' usage on Linux. NO ONE has given a concrete answer to the simple question!
>>
>>I'm astonished by the lack of response. But I'll gonna ask the question at least three more times in new threads until someone finally takes the time to show me the lines in the EULA.
>>
>>This is Take One.
>>
>>Note: Since I really can not find the lines, my personal stance is that the EULA simply does NOT forbid us to use Visual FoxPro on Linux, and that Ken Levy had no right to call Whil at all.

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
