Peter;

If I were Microsoft I would not put anything in writing until I was ready to defend it in a court of law. The advantage at this point is with Microsoft because of what has been stated verbally (do not do it!) along with the legal and financial power behind the company.

Fear or common sense may prevent anyone from acting in a manner that Microsoft does not want. I am not ready to be the first or last “test case” to find out what Microsoft plans to do.

Perhaps since my livelihood does not depend upon using VFP and Linux together I am in a position to be indifferent on this issue. It may be a matter of principle for some, while others may enjoy the fact that the two technologies can be used together.

If I was starving and could not feed my family and the only source of income and survival was using VFP and Linux then I would act! Perhaps with a gun! :)

>There has been much discussion already, but all that energy will have been a waste of precious time if there's not a single line in the EULA that forbids usage on Linux. Suppose Ken calls you and tells you that the EULA forbids you to use both VFP and dBase modules in one application simultaneously... You get worried, call your lawyer, after a thorough study of the EULA his answer is that you might have a good chance to witstand the MS lawyers and at the same time he sends his first bill.

>People (most of all Ken Levy) SHOULD care about answering my question. Those who don't know, should reply that they don't know. And I'm not interested in people's opinion, I'm interested in the FACT: Where is the line that forbids usage. It's really a very simple question.
>
>If none of my quests for the answer produce a clear reply, then that too would be a significant indication that can be used in any lawsuit.

>>>Hi to ALL (including Ken Levy),
>>>
>>>In several threads here, I've asked people to SHOW ME the lines in the EULA that 'forbid' usage on Linux. NO ONE has given a concrete answer to the simple question!
>>>
>>>I'm astonished by the lack of response. But I'll gonna ask the question at least three more times in new threads until someone finally takes the time to show me the lines in the EULA.
>>>
>>>This is Take One.
>>>
>>>Note: Since I really can not find the lines, my personal stance is that the EULA simply does NOT forbid us to use Visual FoxPro on Linux, and that Ken Levy had no right to call Whil at all.
>>
>>
>>Peter, with all due respect, if no one has answered then either they dont know, dont care, or more likely as Alan Popow has pointed out we have all understood the situation in our own way and opinion and have had enough. How does asking the same question again (three times) progress this issue in any way?
