Hi BOb,

Well I guess I can let you in on my news. I'm now working for a company on contract until July and if their revenue stream happens as planned I'll go employee then, if not I'll at least be here until the end of the year.

The company is a MS Solution Partner who provides training, consulting and a vertical market application for school systems. It is a .NET all web application. I'm really excited about learning some new technologies which was difficult to do as an independent. I'll be working on a team.

I'm going to be sitting in on .NET training for the next 2.5 weeks. This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. It's very unlikely I'll be at the VFE conference in the fall.

I know the newest xCase Pro version does, but I'm looking for round trip engineering. I'm a version behind. Besides, Visio is supposed to integrate very well with .NET and I need to use the tools that the majority of the team is familar with.

I downloaded the xCase 6.5 demo so I can see the differences. I may try making a case to use it instead. I do like what I've seen in Visio so far. I'm also trying to make a case to purchase MereMortals .NET Framework (seeing how I'm the framework queen). I think we could really use it. They are worried that since they are creating a vertical market app there could be licensing fees involved. From what I see it's royalty free, but have to purchase one copy per developer. I'd say a small price considering the timelines and the fact some of the team members are fairly new to object oriented development methods.

Take care,

Jacci
