Biggest problem I have is if the person who is the server just hits the power button and goes home - and leaves all the others workstations hanging with corrupted files at that point... lol. It makes no difference how many times you tell them not to do this (yes, even removing the power button from the case want work... as this person will just pull the plug from the back).
So... I always have a quick utility that can fix these file headers.
My experience is many of the people that use a p2p "might" not be computer savy to begin with and don't understand some of the ramifications of sharing data files across a lan.

You know this already... but I always have at least the runtime files on each workstation, and in my latest project go ahead and have the full application there as well with just the data being shared from the server.
