The reason we need folders starting with a period is that some of our salesmen codes begin with a period i.e. ".A" I know this is kinda stupid, but it has been that way for 65 years and there is no changing it. So we have to adapt. I did upgrade to VFP7. In this version of Visual FoxPro, GETDIR( ) supports two different dialog boxes. If you provide fewer than three parameters, GETDIR( ) returns the dialog box from earlier versions. If you provide more than two parameters, Visual FoxPro uses the SHBrowseForFolder routine from the Win32 API to provide the dialog. This way I can view the "." folders. Thanks for your help
