My original question back in 2001 was responded to by Ed Rauh. I think he provided me a slightly modified version of SCCTEXT.PRG. I can send it to you if you like. I compared my BAK file and my PRG file and there are definitely differences. I'm not sure what the original version looks like.

I double-checked the process by putting just an SCA file in an empty folder and ran the command below and the files were created.
