So it seems that buffering wasn't enabled at all. I have to remember this, "pa' en otra".

However, I still don't understand completely: if SET MULTILOCKS if OFF, you should get a clear error message (something like "this feature requires SET MULTILOCKS ON"), if you try to enable buffering.

Please note, also, that if you use private datasessions, each for may have its own options for several SET options - I think this includes SET MULTILOCKS (changes you do in one form won't affect other forms).
