Does anyone have recent experience in using the ACT! SDK to read from an ACT! contact database?

Reading a previous thread posted 18 months ago I tried to use
loACTdb = CreateObject("ACTOLE.DATABASE")

After a couple of seconds delay, Foxpro crashes (C000005 error).

This happens both in VFP7 and VFP8.

A 3rd party VB application running on the same computer can successfully use the ACT!OLE to read the ACT! database. So why won't it work in VFP?

Any suggestions are appreciated.
