>That is probably the exact reason they are grouped together in the world religion breakdowns too. There seems to be more disagreement on a personal and political level between Catholics and Protestants than between the other religions. The most peaceful people I know do not claim to be Catholic or Protestant, but rather those following Hinduism, Buddism, and the other faiths. While I have travelled quite a bit and studied a few religions myself, I am still quite ignorant of much of the world I'm afraid. I spent some time researching Catholicism (my ex-husband and his family are mostly Catholics and he takes my daughter to the Episcopal church), Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, Evangelical Church of God, Buddism, Hinduism, the Unitarian church, Eckankar, Baha'i, and a few others. Most interesting is that in all, the members mostly believe wholeheartedly that their path is the 'truest' path to God and in some cases that theirs is the only true path. I found the least amount of
>tolerance for other religions in the christian faiths.

There are quite a few of the religions, in that listing, which I never heard about - or only heard the name, and not much more! Well, it's difficult to keep track of so many churches...
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
