I mean, say, somebody is a member of UT (BUTM) and tek-tips. I reference UT thread in tek-tips forum by copy and paste the link. The person from another forum can come to this forum and easily view this thread by doing some "trick". I don't know, if it's allowable or not, that's why I'm not yet explaining it, though it's quite simple.
