Leland,

The answer is quite simple. Threads could be off-topic, asked in the wrong forum or asked by a person, who is banned (All threads, which I started, are now deleted).

Each member can "red-flag" a post. Then management can take an appropriate action - usually by deleting a thread and banning the member.

Here is today's example. In VFP forum Gaetano pointed out, that some threads or messages disappeared. Mike Gagnon gave him the same explanations, as I just did, but didn't mention banning. Since Gaetano pointed to the specific thread and I remembered, that deleted posts were related to the fact, that I pointed out a misspelled word, I told him about it. I also told about being "banned". Then slighthaze asked me, why I was banned and I gave a quote from David's message:
The issue with your posting before was that you toggled between sites and did not offer full solutions in threads making nonsense for members trying to follow what you were saying. You also referenced into areas of another site that were not public causing confusion.

Mike told me, that's true, because by pointing out link to the thread I make it impossible for BUTM to get to this message. I explained, that there is a simple way to get to the message by its link and explained how to do it (see my other Chatter forum's message today). Then I didn't use Internet for few hours. When I checked the forum around 11pm, I found, that I'm banned again. I created a new account and discovered, that all my threads were deleted and this thread is of course deleted. So, that's the truth behind the curtain.

>I can't imagine why anyone would be deleting threads in Tek-Tips. Has anyone every indicated why the threads are being deleted. I'm not even sure who is responsible or has the Tek-Tips forum permissions needed to delete threads. Is it the forum mediator or is it Tek-Tips Owner/Management. I wish someone would give some explanation of what going on. I have absolutely no idea why this would happen. ;-?

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
