You can do it that way. I don't like to because I find it confusing when an application changes its face like that, but if you think your users will be more comfortable that way, go for it.

Again, either way will work. Don't use General fields. If you choose to save the document, use Memo binary and extract to a file as needed. Actually, that's all advice for native tables. I don't know the SQL analogy.
