I have win95, win98, NT4, 2000pro, XP pro, xp home. I had a couple issues, one that wasnt vfp8 related. THe installshield engine would not work on NT4 sp3, I had to step back a version.

File corruption: VFP8 will crash on corrupted tables depending on how you have Set tablevalidate. VFP7 just tried to open the table regardless, essentially Set tablevalidate 0. VFP7 didnt validate before opening.

I had one machine that was corrupting tables, this was unknown until I upgraded and it was revealed, with numerous crashes.
