>>Some customers may be anxiously awaiting features that have already been shown in Europa and would rather have them than a fix to this bug.

>Do you have any facts to back this up? Are you saying these customers will be happy to suffer problems in their current tool (with which they make their living and upon which their reputation is based) to get features in Europa that may transpire be just as buggy, only to be told when Europa eventually ships that the latest features they waited so long for cannot be fixed because some customers *may be anxiously* waiting for newer features they have seen in a VFP10 alpha release? Some argument Craig. You need a dose of reality.

I didn't say "are", I said "may" .. purely hypothesis. As for a dose of reality, that's exactly what I'm saying. In the real world, the software company will do a cost/benefit analysis to determine the need for an SP.

Personally, I would like to see the array and collection issues fixed.

>>You say the array issue was posted yesterday. Here you are already loudly complaining about it.

>Nope, I mentioned the collection problem was reported yesterday by Randy, the arrays problem was from Jim.

I got the two mixed up.

>As for "loudly complaining" about it, if you check all of my posts on the UT, I have rarely complained about VFP, if ever. I realise what is driving me on here - it's just your attitude, and not the bugs. I made comments to Tamar and you jumped in on me. So, to avoid bashing the product solely because of you, I should perhaps refrain to avoid this becoming personal.

Good idea...the last thing I want is to have this deteriorate into a JVP-like thread.

>Nope. I am saying that as much as possible should be done to ensure the current product is as robust as it can be. I am saying that bugs should not be ignored because fixing them may jeopardise the next version. That's just plain scaremongering.

But you see.. that again validates my side. Who is to define "as much as possible"? It is different for you than it is for me. And our views are probably very different than what MS defines.

In the end, I'm not saying that MS is right or wrong and I'm not expounding the "company line". MS stated when VFP8 shipped that they had no plans for an SP at that time but if it was determined there was a need, they would ship one. For all we know, they could be planning/working on one now. I'm just helping to educate on how they determine the need. I'm not in or out of the loop on what MS is doing. I don't know any more or less about this than you do.
