Unintuitive, but in the situation try clicking on either arrow in the Spinner. In mine it resets the spinner to a valid value.

Otherwise what you describe is what I faced in another I wrote about a coupla days ago, where the allowable values had been programmatically messed up and I was forced to reboot.
