Are you saying that all 900 would run on the same box? Only switching if first box fails? I would feel better not putting all the eggs in one basket - why not look at a farm of servers (say 8-10) for the Terminal server machines. And spread out the users 1)manually by configuring the machines at each site to hit one or two servers, or 2)automatically by splitting the load of allowed users. I'm sure this could be done in policy settings on their domain.

You could also save a lot of $$$ by not buying 900 licenses - are these connections going to always be there all the time? You need to figure out the average number of concurrent users of the system. Then buy the appropriate licenses.

The design of the servers for SQL sound Ok, but how are you going to implement failover? Are you going to mirror the servers and have the 2nd come up automatically? Again... maybe a farm of smaller servers instead of just 2 servers - if one does go down, you only have one left - and 900 angry users.
